A monumental pair of neoclassical pier cabinets with matching overmantel mirrors, finished in painted and gilt decoration.
Each cabinet is centred by three drawers flanked by cupboard doors, decorated with classical profile medallions within laurel wreaths. The upper section features a large bevelled mirror framed by fluted columns with richly carved Corinthian capitals, beneath an architectural cornice adorned with gilt classical ornament.
The cabinets are further embellished with carved and gilded acanthus, anthemion and scrolling motifs throughout, while the shaped shelves below the mirrors provide a decorative display surface. The tops are fitted with veined marble slabs, complementing the scale and grandeur of the design.
